Over The Top Christmas Lights
2014 - Behind the Scenes - Wire Frame

I Used 4 - 2 x 3 x 8 framing boards, 1 - roll 1/2" x 1/2" - 2' x 25' (19 gauge) Hardware Cloth, 2.5" star screws, 9/16" staples, small zip ties, and 2 cans flat black paint.

Cut 2 x 3s into 2 - 4' pieces, 2 - 3'9" pieces, 2 - 51" pieces, and 4 - 22.5" pieces. Sand edges on the 4' and 3'9" pieces. Take 4 - 22.5" pieces and cut one end of each at an angle so they can be driven in the ground. Using 2.5" screws, attach pieces to form a 4' x 4' section. Paint all sides flat black.

Roll out wire and attach using staples to top of frame and over 2 sides. Do same at bottom of frame putting open edges in middle. Do not overlap wire but butt it up against each other. Use small zip ties to connect wire in middle for strength. Paint both sides of wire with flat black paint.

Once lights have been attached, drive stakes into ground and attach frame using screws.

The frame started as 2" x 3". They were cut and screwed together then painted.

The wire was added using staples and zip tied together in the middle.

It was painted black once all put together.

The frame was stood up using wooden stakes driven into ground also painted black.
