Over The Top Christmas Lights
2012 Behind the Scenes - Tree Roots)

The method used for covering the roots of the tree worked so well in 2011 that I used the same method again for 2012. I used net to cover the roots of the tree then using twisty ties I attached the lights to the net and where needed I hung small snack bags filled with sand using bent paper clips. See below for more details and pictures. I used 690' x 2' of net (1380 sq ft), over 400' of twisty tie, 10 lbs of sand, 4160 lights on the roots, and 1772 lights in LED rope lights around the roots.

I want to thank Calusa Electric for their help with the electical work, nautical-nets-bouys-and-more that provided the net from eBay.

This is what a few strands of lights looked like at night.
