2016 Behind the Scenes - Router

I needed a router to upload information to the signs during the season. This router needed to be waterproof. I used a regular router and placed into a waterproof box. Information on how I did this can be found below. I used a Netgear WiFi Range Extender Model #WN30000RP, SPT1 cord, SPT1 male connector, CAT5 cable, construction adhesive, shallow electrical box, outlet, electrical putty, and 6" x 6" waterproof box. Starting off I cut the tabs off of the shallow electrical box then drilled a 9/16" hole in bottom of the box. Using the construction adhesive the shallow box was secured to the inside middle of the waterproof box. This had to set several hours to stay secured. The SPT1 cord was wired to outlet and the male end was placed on the other end. The CAT5 cable was inserted into box and attached to router then the router was plugged into the outlet. The cover was replaced and putty was used to seal hole where the wires were inserted.
