Over The Top Christmas Lights
2018 - Behind the Scenes -
Leaping Arches

I used 14 - 10' 1/2" schedule 40 PVC pipe, 7 packages of plastic edging, 7 sets of 100 count pixels from LOR.

The edging was into sections with 50 crosses in each section. After pushing a 1/2" PVC pipe through the edging the pipe was cut leaving an inch or so at the end of each side so it could be slid into the fittings on the strobe light curtain frame.

The pipe with the edging was then bent and pushed into one fitting then into the second fitting with the rounded edge toward the back. The pixels were then pushed into the crosses one at a time from the back side. You must make sure they are placed in the correct direction from the controllers and programed in the same mannor.

Each conrtoller is then mounted in the middle of the two arches it will control. The pixel strings are then connected to the controller and wired for electricity.

The pre-design and work with the strobe lights frame left it ready to add the leaping arches to the top.

I slid a 1/2" schedule 40 PVC pipe inside the edging to give it strength and to be able to slide it into the fittings on the strobe light curtain frame.

Pixels were pushed into each cross from the back side. One controller controls two arches. Seven controllers were used to run the 14 arches.
